Winnekenni Castle (2.0 mi)

Over ten miles of hiking, biking, and cross country trails around Kenoza Lake and Lake Saltonstall–open year round.

Beautiful, well-maintained, natural setting with walking trails around the lake, tennis courts, a cottage that includes restrooms, landscaped small gardens, and Winnekenni Castle at the top of the hill overlooking the lake. The castle has free events throughout the year and can be rented for special events (weddings, receptions, corporate events, etc). Many great spots around the park to hang out with a picnic or go for a short or long walk—a little piece of heaven. Great place for dogs.

Lake Saltonstall (1.2 mi):
Fishing, Swimming and Sailing  

A small lake (referred to locally as Plug Pond) located in the southwest park of the Winnekenni Conservation Area. Accessible via the main entrance or through trails leading from the Castle, Lake Saltonstall has an area open to the public, and another reserved exclusively for Haverhill residents. During the summer months, it is open to residents for swimming, municipal sail boating programs, and picnicking. Has bathroom facilities. Residents and non-residents alike may fish on Lake Saltonstall, a state-stocked fishing area.

Bradford Ski (3.0 mi)

Downhill ski area with nine lifts, a terrain park, 100 % snow making, 100% lighting for night skiing, rental shop , lesson programs, and a cafeteria on-site.

Plum Island Kayaks (14.0 mi)

Outdoor adventure company operating from the downtown "Captain Red" Slavit Municipal Dock. Kayaks are available for rental and use on the Merrimack River.

Crescent Yacht Club (0.8 mi)

The Crescent Yacht Club is a friendly and welcoming club that has been on the Merrimack River since the 1940s. Members own mostly center-console type and pontoon boats.

Washington Landing Park is right next door to the Crescent Yacht Club and has a public boat ramp as well as a playground.  The park is so named because it is on or near the spot where President George Washington landed after crossing the Merrimack after a visit to Haverhill in 1789.

Kazmiera Marina (3.0 mi)

Established in 1996, "Kaz" Marina is nestled on the scenic banks of the Merrimac River in Haverhill, Massachusetts. A family-friendly, freshwater marina for boaters in and around the Merrimac Valley, Kazmiera has been locally owned and operated for over 23 years. Today, the marina offers 150 slips and dry docking for over 350 boats.

Located near major routes I-95 and I-495, Kazmiera Marina is just a few minutes by boat or car to the revitalized downtown district of Haverhill, featuring museums, shops, and restaurants. The mouth of the Merrimac River and Plum Island Sound are close enough to make a day of sport fishing or a visit to historic Newburyport a part of your visit.
